From the Executive Director
Dear Friends,
I am thrilled to welcome you to RRCP's very first Unified Production!
To begin, I want to offer a heartfelt thank you to our Producer, David Sheehy. David has been an incredible advocate for Accessible Stage Productions in southern Maine and a major reason why RRCP decided to embrace this exciting opportunity. It was also David who suggested Footloose the Musical: Youth Edition as this year’s production. From the moment he mentioned it, the choice felt just right. The story is all about celebrating self-expression and having the courage to challenge social rules. Plus, it’s just plain fun, packed with unforgettable songs that many of you will recognize.
With that said, community theater is about much more than the show —it’s about building an inclusive space where people of all ages and walks of life can come together to share creativity and build meaningful connections. This production is a true reflection of that spirit, and it’s thanks to the amazing people involved.
From the very beginning, the cast and crew brought an incredible sense of camaraderie. Many of our actors already knew each other from participating in Accessible Stage Productions at Lyric Music Theater and Gorham Arts Alliance, and their friendships brought so much joy to the process. Our wonderful crew includes members of the RRCP faculty as well as some of our most trusted crew members. Although some had never worked together before, they collaborated effortlessly to create an enriching experience for everyone involved.
Finally, I’d like to thank you, our audience, for being here today. Your support of these talented performers and the dedicated crew is what makes this all possible. We deeply appreciate your presence and encouragement. Now, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!
Warm regards,
Chris Sullivan, Executive Director

The Royal River Community Players are excited to present the Accessible Stages Collaborative, offering two free online workshops for theater groups. Bridget Parker
Urleen
Hi! I am Bridget, and I live in Portland Maine. In Footloose I play Urleen. I grew up in Yarmouth with my family. I have ADHD and an intellectual disability. I did a lot of school plays in middle school and in high school. Some of my favorite plays were Seussical, the Sound of Music, and Shrek. I also did theater camp in the summer. One of my favorite plays in theater camp was Oliver. After high school I took a break from theater and did some day programs and then I went to Strive University, where I learned how to live on my own. After I graduated from Strive U, I moved into my own apartment in Portland. I tried out for the plays, my first play was a unified play called Once Upon A Mattress.I feel like unified theater can really help kids and adults who have special needs bring up their confidence level, memorizing their lines with telling speeches, and help with hosting meetings and other things in life. I love doing unified theater. Thank you so much David, Tyler, Laura, and the whole team. I'm having an awesome time in Footloose!
