Jill S. Johanning, AIA
Jill Johanning is a Maine Licensed Architect who specializes in accessible and inclusive design at Alpha One Disability + Aging Solutions. As an independent living center at Alpha One, accessbility has been a core service of Alpha One for more than 40 years, providing ADA technical assistance, training, and consulting on designing facilities for universal access. Before joining Alpha One, Jill was employed as a project designer for a large A/E firm in Maine. She has design and construction experience in public and private building projects, with a focus on educational and universal design campus facilities for users of
all abilities. Her strong accessibility background developed from working with children and adults with disabilities while studying architecture in college.

As our theaters and nonprofits reach a more diverse population, it is imperative that our digital media supports individuals with a variety of access requirements. Join David Sheehy, instructional designer at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine and Director of the Accessible Stages Collaborative, as he shares best practices in image design and alternative text, social media posts, website design, and the creation of other web content. David Sheehy
David Sheehy is the Director of the Accessible Stages Collaborative (ASC) at Royal River Community Players (RRCP), supporting the implementation of best practices in accessibility at RRCP and in theater organizations across the state of Maine. He works full time as an Instructional Designer at Saint Joseph's College of Maine, building online courses and supporting faculty in implementing best practices in accessible web design. He has earned a badge in Accessible Digital Content through the University of Maine System, and will earn his certification as a Behavioral Health Professional through Woodfords Family Services later this fall. Originally from New Hampshire, David lives in Augusta with his wife, Dr. Abby Blake-Sheehy, and their son, Peter.
