 Call for Theater Camp Proposals

Do you have a passion for the performing arts? Enjoy encouraging young people to find new ways to express themselves? Have you considered sharing your talents by developing a performing arts summer camp? Then Royal River Community Players (RRCP) might have the venue for you.

RRCP's summer camps are very popular, and this year we are hoping to expand our offerings and are looking for proposals from theater arts educators. Camps should be 1-week long and can be either half day, full day, or split-day (AM/PM sessions) for different ages. Programs should accommodate a min of 8 students and max 18 students with two instructors (you can propose as a pair, or RRCP can help find support staff). Possible themes include musical theater, singing and music, dance and movement, puppetry, improv, and set or costume design. We are open to all proposals, but are very interested in ideas for students aged 6-10.

Our Playhouse is conveniently located just off Exit 15 on Rt. 1 in Yarmouth. It includes an 80+ seat black box theater, green room, and breakout space.

About Royal River Community Players:
Royal River Community Players is a multi-generational, non-profit community theater located in Yarmouth, Maine. Founded in the fall of 2016 by a group of like-minded theater enthusiasts who decided it was time to have a performance group that wasn't "just for kids" nor "just for adults," our goal is to provide performance opportunities for all ages and to produce plays and musicals that the whole family can participate in, watch, and enjoy. RRCP is welcoming to people of all ages, abilities, races, ethnicities, religions and orientations.

Mission:
The purpose of the Royal River Community Players is to create multi-generational performing arts experiences for Yarmouth and surrounding area residents. These opportunities of education, culture, and creative expression are provided through theatrical productions for all ages.

Minimum qualifications:

· Experience working with children ages 5-15

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Arts experience relevant to proposed workshop

· Must pass a background check

Submissions:

If you're an artist or educator who is interested, please send a letter of introduction with a camp title, age range, and a brief description of your program idea. Additionally, include your acting/teaching resume and email it to admin@royalrivercommunityplayers.com.
