Royal River Community Players (RRCP) is once again teaming up with the Yarmouth Historical Society to present Stroll Haunted Yarmouth, one of Yarmouth’s favorite fall traditions. For the seventh consecutive year, residents and visitors will be treated to a walking tour of the historic Hillside Cemetery that combines carefully researched tales from Yarmouth’s history with a little spooky, spine-tingling fun. Participants can expect an unforgettable journey through Yarmouth’s past with a series of short performances at various historically significant locations, each shedding light on the lives, mysteries, and perhaps even the ghosts of the town’s storied past.

From the Director
This year, walking through the Royal River Community Playhouse doors felt both familiar and new. With Stroll Haunted Yarmouth 2024 under my belt, I felt a sense of, “I’ve got this!” As we selected scripts, cast the scenes, and mapped the creative vision, I felt a spark of newness. Creatively, this is truly a magical place to be. For SHY 2025, this is exactly where I wanted to be at the start of the journey.
And now we’re here!
Echoing my sentiments from last year - From leadership, to cast members, to families, I was met with excitement, curiosity, and (once again) permission to take SHY wherever I wanted it to go. For me, telling a story by way of the heart is how we tap into universal language. The lived and learned human experiences. I wanted heart to be the thread tying all of our scenes together. This led to a greater collaborative approach in rehearsals, seeking insights, feedback, and integrating our actors’ unique personalities into their characters. As an audience member, you will experience the familiar SHY scaffolding: the stroll, the structure of the production, the storytelling, and a bit of mystery. You will also experience something unique to this moment: levity, tenderness, playful antics, somber moments…all bound together by the magic of the heart.
I did not do this alone. My unyielding gratitude goes out to my creative family, Ian-Meredythe Dehne-Lindsey and Cory Osborne. We discovered SHY 2025 together, and I cannot thank you both enough for all of your work, insights, support, and trust in me. Thank you to Merritt Holman for joining us and making our creative trio and fierce quartet. Thank you to our costume designer extraordinaire - Anna Halloran! The cast looks wonderfully authentic, and they all feel both comfortable and proud - the mark of a master costumer. Thank you to Timmy Lee, Rory Lovejoy, Caleb Eugley, Natalie Coolidge, and Syrin Hassan for helping this production run smoothly and shine. Thank you to Melina Roberts and the RRCP Board of Directors for the foundation on which we were able to build SHY 2025. Thank you to Chris Sullivan for being our champion and our rock. You are the reason I am a part of the beautiful RRCP family. I appreciate and admire you so very much. Thank you to the cast and tour guides for sharing your talents, time, and hearts. Thank you to the families who have supported our cast by way of scheduling, rides to and from rehearsals, volunteering time to support the production, and for graciously providing us the space to create. Thank you to the Yarmouth Historical Society for your knowledge and guidance. Thank you to our sponsors for providing the necessary resources to produce SHY. Finally, thank you to the community of Yarmouth, past and present, for opening your hearts and minds to us. We hope SHY 2025 demonstrates our commitment to authentic storytelling from the heart. Enjoy the stroll!
Be well.
