This exciting and immersive six-week after-school program is tailored for young performers who want to delve into the art of performing. We cater to students of all skill levels, including beginners and those who have already taken a dive into the dynamic pool of theatrical arts. Our curriculum incorporates imaginative play, improvisational games, singing, and dancing, making for an engaging and dynamic learning experience.

On-Camera Acting Workshop (Kids)

Saturday 1:00pm-2:30pm

This fun and informative workshop will focus on acting for the camera, which is different than acting on stage. Children will be assigned commercials and scenes from Sesame Street, Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, Netflix, and more, plus there will be improv exercises to stretch your imagination and challenge you to think on your feet. All kids will need to be comfortable reading out loud on camera. Scenes will be recorded and sent to you after class so you can watch your clips. Both beginners and children with performing experience are welcome.

Adult Theatre Ensemble

Tuesday's 10:00am - 11:30am

Adult Theatre Ensemble is a class for adult members (30+) of our community who are curious about trying the performing arts, looking for a creative outlet, or who are looking for an opportunity to connect with new friends. In this course, students will explore the basics of acting. Throughout the term, students will try improv games, explore acting exercises, read scenes aloud together, discuss character development, and perform scene studies in small groups.

Get a stronger understanding of on-camera acting in this fun and informative workshop with casting director, filmmaker, and coach Mark J. Parker. Not only will adults in this class work on grounding their performances in realism, bringing truth to their characters and letting go of the theatricality needed on stage, but also will learn tips for auditioning on camera. Scenes will be assigned from films and TV shows, including recent award winners, plus there will be improv exercises to challenge you. Scenes will be recorded and sent to you after class so you can watch your clips. Both beginners and experienced performers are welcome.
