Overview:

We are in search of Assistant Instructors for our upcoming Fall. We are looking for someone who loves working with kids and teens (ages 11-18), has a passion for theatre (whether it be on stage or behind the scenes), and is excited to learn about running theater tech.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include:

 

•  Helping the lead faculty with tech setup and shut down;

•  Participating in or leading theatre games as needed;

•  Supervising students;

•  Running tech at the end of term showcase;

•  Being Sensitive to the many ages of performers that may attend a program (youth through adult);

•  Reporting any problems or issues that might adversely impact the program or any attendees;

•  Adherence to RRCP policies: Interaction with Minors.

 

Qualifications:

 

·       Experience in theater, teaching, working at camps, or a related experience.

·       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with students of various ages.

·       A commitment to promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.

·       Familiarity with child safety and protection policies is highly regarded.

·       Technical skills related to theater productions, including knowledge of lighting, sound, or stage management is preferred but not required.

·       Any people under the age of 16 must have their own transportation and be able to obtain a work permit before beginning the job.

 

About RRCP:

RRCP’s mission is to provide an environment that allows individuals of all ages to explore creativity, express themselves in the performing arts, and develop important life skills, such as teamwork, self-confidence, communication, and adaptability to change. Our plan is to grow our reach by presenting four amazing productions: Stroll Haunted Yarmouth, The 39 Steps, Heidi, and Matilda the Musical.

We are also committed to serving the local community by offering free programs and events, collaborating with nearby nonprofits and other community organizations, providing educational classes for kids and adults, and functioning as a venue for other theatrical companies and performing arts organizations.

Schedule:

  • Junior Ensemble (10-13) - Wednesdays, September 18 - December 4 (No class 10/16 & 11/27), 5:00pm-6:30pm

  • Showcase – Sunday, December 8, 1:00pm-3:00pm

Compensation:

$15 an hour
