The Royal River Community Players invites actors of all ages (aged 13+), experience, and abilities to sign up for our Unified Production of Footloose the Musical - Youth Edition. This special one-hour version is adapted from the Tony-nominated musical, which itself is inspired by the popular movie. The narrative centers around Ren McCormack, a teenager from the city who relocates to a small town where dancing is prohibited. Ren becomes a catalyst for change, rallying the community to reclaim their joy and freedom of expression.

Unified Productions boast a diverse cast of performers, both with and without disabilities, aiming to create an inclusive and collaborative theatrical experience. Don't miss out on the opportunity to be part of this remarkable event.

FAQ:

What is Unified Theater?

Unified Theater is an emerging discipline in which people from a wide variety of backgrounds, with and without disabilities, collaborate as equals to stage a production.

Why is this show Youth Edition?

A youth edition of a musical is a version of a theatrical production specifically adapted for younger performers and audiences. It typically features a shorter runtime, simplified dialogue, and music that is adjusted to suit the vocal range and abilities of children or teens. These adaptations are designed to be more accessible and manageable for schools, community theaters, and youth organizations while still retaining the heart of the original work. Even though we have licensed the Youth Edition, we are casting all ages.

Does it cost anything to participate?

No! We do not charge anyone to participate in RRCP.

Will everyone be cast?

Casting is available to everyone, regardless of experience. Audition slots are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Once all slots are taken, registration will be closed. Use the "Audition Form" link above to sign up.
